I would greatly appreciate opinions on the live draft room. Specifically, I am wondering if it is a good product or if there are issues, such as freezing up, etc. My league of 17 years finally had enough with Fanball's live draft room issues every single year and I'm shopping around for a new commissioner product. Though MFL looks very promising, there is no point switching over here if the live draft room will cause me and my league the same problems as Fanball. Thanks in advance.

We've used it since it was first offered and have had no problems. If your owners have any snap at all (mine don't when it comes to computers dry.gif ) they will get the hang of it very quickly. Our draft just flys by. Our #1 problem (the only one actually) is that guys will not have highlighted the player they want to draft. So the first guy in the alphabetical list gets picked when they click. That guy is drafted a couple of times every year. huh.gif Easy enough to undo.

I know some other leagues have had issues but I think things have improved as time has gone by.

Never had an issue....I would recomend this to a friend as is...

No troubles here. It's all pretty simple to use and self explanatory. It may not look the "prettiest" but frankly bells and whistles mean nothing if it doesn't work.

Note that you can setup an MFL league (as many as you want actually) for free right now and use all the draft features for free. So setup a test league and hold a 3-4 round test draft with just yourself logged in as commish and draft for all owners. This will help you figure out how it works. Just use the "reset draft" option when you're done. Then maybe do a test draft with your owners so they all get a feel for how it works.

Agree with everyone above... Used it for years without a problem.... Unfortunately, if you want a Live auction you'll have to use Yahoo or ESPN and import the rosters manually...

Why look anywhere else?? wink.gif

I agree with the other guys here. As somebody pointed out earlier the best part is that you can create a free league and test out the draft room and see if it's what you're looking for. Good luck and welcome to MFL

We just did a draft the other night, and it was a "jumpy" live draft room. It seemed to me that every time someone added a new msg in chat that the room was about 50% likely to re-size / "jump" after it was posted. That was annoying to several team owners.

We've used it for several seasons now as having owners from all over the US pretty much means we have to use it (or a chat room of some sort). It has run well for us whether we use it for a completely online draft (owners drafting from everywhere) or in a combo draft (where local owners meet in 1 locale & several other owners draft online). It should be able to be used for anything from a local draft to an online draft with little or no issues (if there are issues, it might be because there are many leagues all drafting at the same time on the same day).

I think what you were seeing was the page refeshes itself......it might be jumpy here and there but it never loses its functionality.

I shared your concern when we moved over here a few years ago. But we have had zero issues with the draft room. I did as bscott suggests and setup an extra league and ran thru a few rounds myself in order to be able to help others if needed, as we also have a few non tech types among us. But after 2 rounds everyone was fine and we get in a good draft each year with half the owners in one room and the other half spread out across the country. I recently started inviting a friend to act as commish during the draft to enter in local picks and hold or backup the draft if needed so that I had one less excuse for a poor draft myself.

Bottom line easy to use.

Other than this, pretty solid functionally. Sometimes people think the highest guy in their queue will get picked when they hit draft, but it's the the highlighted guy.

The timer does have a second or two lag sometimes, so make sure people put their picks in with at least 4 or 5 seconds left on the timer or else it might not make it.

I run 4 leagues using MFL with 72 total teams and have never had a problem in the last 3 years.

I do have to say though a good as the draft room is, the auction draft setup is horrendous

Two different leagues (both 5+ years) and both have moved to other draft sites - the interface is terrible and we consistently had issues of one kind or another. Love MFL otherwise - one year they tried a flash-based draft that seemed to work "ok" but haven't seen it since. Bottomline in my experience: the owners in both leagues play in various others (e.g Yahoo, Sportsline, etc....) and I got tired of hearing the complaints about the draft module so I moved and now import the draft results.
